This started out as a simple drawing but I thought it needed a little more so I pulled out my pastels and created a folk art piece.
Isaiah 53:6; “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Most of us live our lives with a little stardust in our eyes dreaming of what may come. Thinking of the people we can become or of the money we can make. There is nothing wrong with a few dreams in life as long as we remain focused on what is important. Zacchaeus was man who had a certain vision for his life until on day he met a man named Jesus who changed his life forever. The same is true of us. When you enter into a relationship with Jesus your life changes. The stardust drops from your eyes and you see things as they truly are.
Yes I know it is not Easter yet but I felt like I needed to draw this picture. This little girl loves her chocolate. In fact she is wearing some on her face. This is a pen drawing highlighted in color pencil. The little girl like many of us is over indulging in the good stuff. The problem is if you eat too much chocolate it will give you a stomach ache. Life in general is like the chocolate that is why God warns us not be gluttons or over indulge ourselves because in the end we will find ourselves sick.
As a child i loved to go out and play in the rain. There is just something about being cleansed and refreshed by the water as it cascades over you. Dancin’ in the rain is a reminder to me what it was like when I gave my life to Jesus as His forgiveness washed over me reminding me how much it feels to be truly loved.
I used to love creating paintings using chalk pastels. I got away from it for a while I don’t know why. Recently I go the urge to start toying with the medium again. this is one of my first drawings. i hope you enjoy Warm Summer Thoughts.
I have been laid up the last week with the flu, super cold, whatever it was and a hard time getting up the energy to draw. So for today my entry is nothing more than a scribble drawing of a cardinal. I filled it in a little with color pencil. I hope you like it. I know it turned out better than I thought it would.
Often there are many wonders right behind the curtain. The problem is we fail to move the curtain back to see what awaits us there. Don’t waste your life, put your trust in God and pull back the curtain.
